In Romans Chapter 11:17-36, the olive tree is a symbol of the spiritual heritage of Israel, but Gentiles have been grafted into the tree like a wild olive shoot.  Both Jews and Gentiles share the tree's nourishment based on faith in God.   This is how the name of the website and this ministry came to be.

2 Timothy 4:1-3 (NIV) tells us, “1In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

The purpose of this site is to do such things as mentioned in the text;

To preach the Word of God

To be prepared in season and out of season; in other words all the time, when its popular and when it’s not. We live in a time when it’s not popular to preach the Word of God, but preach we must!

To correct those who have been led astray by false doctrine and to lovingly correct them. To expose those who teach false doctrines, so that others can be warned and encourage others to study, read and pray that they may grow in Christ. All with great patience and careful instruction. I hope and pray that this site will be a blessing and encouragement in your walk with Christ. The fact is that truth/doctrine will and is intended to divide truth from error. Don't be afraid to compare what you hear in your church or fellowship with the Word of God, we're commanded to do so.  Many pastors abuse their authority and will not permit others to question them when they are in error.  If you are in such a church, you must leave it.  We live in a time where relationships are more of a priority that the Word of God.  Don't be deceived, check the word yourself and determine if they match.  Does what you hear and see in your church match the word of God?  Don't be lulled into thinking, we've always done it this way so it must be right or having someone tell you they've been in ministry many years so they must be right.  Maybe they've been wrong all this time...check the Word of God for yourself, don't sacrifice your spiritual growth for the sake of having relationships.  Pray that God will lead you to a church where the Word is truly preached, balanced with a proper understanding of theology.  Don't be afraid to ask your pastor where he got his theological education.  And I did say he, because God has not called women to pastor or have spiritual authority over a man as described in 1 Timothy 2 and Titus 1.  You can read the aritcle in the Past Articles sections titled, "Should Women be Pastors and Elders" which is more indepth.  Much unbiblical has crept into the church; the Word of Faith movement (Health and Wealth Gospel); make up your mind who you will serve God or man.

 As you continue to study the Word of God be encouraged that as you grow in Christ your purpose for the Glory of God will become clearer day by day.
